Show POTTERY KILN ARRIVES A 500-lb. pottery kiln, which is part of the new equipment for the Altamont High School was delivered Saturday. Mrs. Opal Gomm, art insructor, reports that some art students have already prepared pottery, to be baked. The art department will soon be able to carry on an instruction course in ceramics. Leonard Brown is confined to the Salt Lake LDS Hospital with diabetes and other complications. Mrs. Brown is the former Clara Snow, the daughter of Irvin Snow of Mt. Emmons. Grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Snow and Mr. and Mrs. Volney Boswell are rejoicing with Mr. and Mrs Arthur Sncw over the birth of their first son in the Roosevelt LDS Hospital Sunday, Oct. 30. Mr. and Mrs. Snow have four daughters. daugh-ters. Guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jewel Kolb during deer season were Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie Pratt, of San Diego, Calif. Also joining the Kolbs for the hunt, were Mr. and Mrs. Kay Winn of Roosevelt, Donal Kolb of Ouray, Louis Reese and son, Walker Reese, Don Johnson and Michael Clifford of Salt Lake City. Mrs. Rondo Harmon was hostess Friday to the Mt. Emmons Gleaners, Glean-ers, who met in her home for class instruction. Linda Mohlman was baby sitter for the occasion. Cookies Cook-ies and punch were enjoyed at the close of the meeting. - Visiting this week in the home of Mr and Mrs. Bernard Dastrup were Don Allen of Salt Lake and Deloy Bench of Clearfield a nephew of Mrs. Dastrup. Lyard McConkie left the first of the week for Ft. Bridger, Wyoming Wyom-ing on business. Lynda Burton visited Sunday with Roberta Denver. Alvin Denver brought home his deer this week. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Roberts, of Salt Lake, visited with the Leland Stevensons during the week. Mrs. Roberts is Mr. Stevenson's sister. Visiting with the Glen Ames were Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Mower and family from Maybell, Colo.; Mrs. Ames' brother, Nelwood Wall and family, Vista Wall and girls of Salt Lake, and Donna Smith, of Layton. Glen Ames and Nelwood Nel-wood Wall were both successful in getting their deer. Saturday dinner guests of the Floid Harman family were Mr. and Mrs. Mars Larsen of Midvale. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Wilcock were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Pete Wall for the deer hunt. They are from Salt Lake. Zane Wall, who is attending at-tending Snow College, spent the weekend home with his parents, also. Mr. and Mrs. Pete Wall' are proud grandparents of a baby daughter, born to Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Wall at the Roosevelt LDS Hospital on Oct. 23. She has been given the name of Jackie Lee Wall. Max and Floid Hartman spent Thursday and Friday hunting near the Hayes ranch at Strawberry Reservoir. Max was successful in the hunt, bringing home a 4-point buck. Mr. and Mrs. Chester Hartman had Sunday dinner with their son and his family, the Floid Hartmans. This was the first day out for Mrs. Chester Hartman, who has been confined to her home since her illnesss. The first round of Junior M Men basketball games was held Thursday night at the high school gym. Talmage won over Bluebell, Boneta topped Altonah and Mt. Home won over Mt. Emmons, with Upalco drawing a bye. |
