Show Ellen Bracken Phone 62662 Women Hunters Injured In Wreck Frank Winn had the misfortune to wreck his truck completely while deer hunting last week out east of Ouray in the Book-Cliff territory. He was accompanied by his wife and Mrs. Boyce Job of Alterra. Both women were injured and taken to the Roosevelt Hospital. Hos-pital. Mrs. Winn suffered a broken shoulder. She has been released. Mrs. Job's back was broken in two places. She will be confined to the hospital for some time. GO TO TEMPLE Bishop and Mrs. Golden Collins and Mr and Mrs. Alden White participated in the LDS Excursion in Salt Lake City Friday, Oct. 28. Mrs. Lynn Bracken, now of Salt Lake City, enjoyed the excursion also. Mr. and Mrs. Mark Rasmussen and family of Salt Lake City have been enjoying a visit with Mark's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Far-rell Far-rell Rasmussen. Other visitors at the Rasmussen home were a son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. John Broderick and family, of Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Earl " McKenna, now of Provo, visited with Mr. and Mrs. Wendel Johnson last Sunday, and laso with Mr and Mrs. Russel Todd of Bennett. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Bartlett and baby girl have been recent visitors at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Eldredge. Mr. Bartlett is in the armed forces, and they are at present living in Livermore, Calif. Our profound sympathy is extended ex-tended to Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Memmott and son, because of the recent passing of their daughter and sister, Carol. Glen Oldroyd of Vernal', the county Primary supervisor, was a visitor at the Alterra School on Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Shisler were business visitors at Vernal on Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Mangum have been enjoying the deer hunt and visiting Norman's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Squire Mangum. They also made a trip to Cortez, Colo., to visit Mrs. Mangum's parents, Norman is in the armed forces and is at present stationed in Oakland, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Robinson of Salt Lake City have a baby boy, and Mr. and Mrs. Don Robinson, Robin-son, a baby girl. Both fathers are former residents of Alterra. Stephen and Dennis Howard, sons of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Howard How-ard of South Dakota, formerly of Ft. Duchesne, visited school at Alterra Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. De Lor Maxfield of Salt Lake City have been recent re-cent visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Hullinger. Thirteen of the officers and teachers of the Ward Primary attended the Stake Primary preparation pre-paration meeting in Roosevelt Saturday Sat-urday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Bracken of Salt Lake City came out Wednesday Wednes-day to attend the funeral services of Miss Carol Memmott. Mr. and Mrs. Karl Shisler made a trip to Salt Lake City Friday to purchase some furniture for their new home. Mrs. Phillip Merkley entertained a group of children at her home Saturday afternoon in honor of her son, Jeffry's fourth birthday. Mrs. Paul Reyos made a trip to Monticell'o to visit her husband who is employed there. GOES TO GERMANY Mrs. Erold C. Wiscombe and three sons of Logan left Salt Lake City Saturday for New York City to board a plane for Zucibrucken, Germany Where they would be met by Erold who is teaching school there for the U. S. Government. Govern-ment. Erold was raised as a boy in Ballard; served a mission for our ward. He had been teaching in Logan for several years where they have made their home. Mr. and Mrs. Kirk Allred of Salt Lake City are the very proud parents of a new baby boy. This is the first grandchild for Mr. and Mrs. CalVin Squire. Mrs. Allred was formerly Beverly Squire. The other grandmother is Mrs. Jennie Allred of Lindon. Mrs. Lelia Merkley of Vernal was a visitor with her daughter and son-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Jenkins, over the weekend. Earl Winn left Tuesday for Nebraska on a trip for the government. govern-ment. Mrs. Max Todd and son visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Rex Gardner at Maeser while Max was away deer hunting. HALLOWEEN PARTY Mrs. Ned Gines entertained her Sunday School class Thursday evening at her home at a Hollo-ween Hollo-ween party. All who came were in costume. Games were played and refreshments served. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Pike of Long Beach, Calif., were here to enjoy the deer hunt and to visit friends and relatives. Mrs. Wendel Johnson and Mrs. Neil Larsen acted as substitute teachers at Alterra a few days last week. P-TA IS TONIGHT Remember P-TA is being held at Alterra tonight (Thursday), Nov. 3. MIA HAS PARTY The MIA held a Halloween party at the Chapel Tuesday evening eve-ning in place of the regular class work. All those who attended enjoyed the party. GETS ARMY DISCHARGE Jay Gates, who is attending school at the BYU, has been a recent visitor at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Larsen. Jay has received his honorable discharge from the army. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Brighton Brigh-ton and two children and Mrs. Myrtle Lambert of Roosevelt enjoyed en-joyed dinner with Mr. and Mrs. S. A. Brighton and Mr. and Mrs. Don Killian Sunday, Oct. 23. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Whitbeck and Red Henderson of Corano, Calif., were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Clavin Squire for the deer season. Mrs. LaRue Burgess and Mrs. Neilson of Myton, both Stake workers in Sunday School, were visitors at Ballard Sunday morning. morn-ing. D.
