"National Education Week'' Most Schools Set Special Parents' Days Schools and service organizations throughout the Duchesne School District are going all out for a complete observance of National Education Week, which begins next Sunday, Nov. 6, and continues throughout the week to Nov. 12. According to Supt. Rowan C. Stutz, special programs are being arranged in most of the schools with parents and the remainder of the general public being extended special invitations to spend a day at school to learn first hand from the teachers how Johnny and Mary are coming along. Theme Announced "Education, An Investment In America," is the theme of the week this year and with Milton Nielson, principal of the Myton School, and president of the Duchesne Du-chesne County Teachers Association, Associa-tion, as chairman of a committee composed of teachers and members of all American Legion posts and Auxiliary units, an outstanding program is being prepared. "Most of the schools will conduct con-duct 'Parents' Day at School,' with the purpose of bringing the school to the public, and the public to the school," Mr. Stutz said, as he announced the plans. Parents and other adults are encouraged to be alert to the local programs that will be announced through the schools in each community, and make plans to "Spend A Day At School." |
