Show CLIFF MEMMOTT, Editor Thanks To Everyone. . . Perhaps the next few lines I shall attempt to write will be . the most difficult of my entire eighteen years as an editor of a newspaper. . . The past four weeks have brought more heartaches heart-aches to me than all the rest of my life. . . When one hears about, or reads of tragedies that have come into families through the sudden death of a member of the family, there is a great longing todo something that might sooth the hearts of the bereaved family. As soon as the news began to spread of the sudden death of our loving daughter, Carol, friends and relatives began a steady stream of personal visits, telephone calls and other means of expressing sympathy to Midge, Kent and me. . . The hundreds hun-dreds of grand people who came to us in our darkest hour, will never know how much you have done to ease the terrible ache that still pounds our hearts. My vocabulary is most inadequate to express the appreciation apprecia-tion my family feel's in our hearts for the many acts of kindness, kind-ness, sympathy, floral offerings, hundreds of letters, cards, telegrams tele-grams and telephone calls that have been sent our way. . . Never can a family receive more heart-warming tributes to a valient child of our Father in Heaven, than were paid our daughter, Carol. The consoling and assuring funeral sermons the beautiful music and the soul-searching prayers offered in our behalf, have left a mark upon our lives that will last throughout through-out this life and into the eternities. Meeting a deadline each week, as we do in the newspaper business, and working with a small crew has its problems, everything being normal. . . Then to take two people out of an office who are more or less responsible for the news writing and editing, leaves quite a gap. That happened in our shop last week but a loyal staff rose to the occasion and with a little help from a kind friend or two, had your newspaper to you on schedule. One gave up part of his hunting-vacation to return re-turn to the job. . . Midge, Kent and I are grateful to these loyal friends and employees for their assistance. . . We were also deeply moved by the eloquent tribute they wrote in memory mem-ory of Carol, their friend and associate, who for five years was a part of the staff in the office of the Record and Standard. Our loss has been tremendous one that ' will' never completely com-pletely be erased from our hearts and minds. However, we are humbly grateful to a Just and Wise God who permitted us to share her with Him for eighteen years, and will always have a prayer of thanksgiving in our hearts that she quietly passed into a sweeter life without having to suffer the physical and mental pain a dreaded disease oftimes brings to its victims. . . We have the knowledge and assurance that if we live worthy in this life we shall someday be able to again take Carol by the hand and journey on through an endless life in our Father's mansion. Thanks, and God Bless All of You Who Came To Us In Our Hour of Grief vEv And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He heareth us; And if we know that He hears us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him. I John 5:14-15. vEv vEv A THANK YOU FROM MOAB STUDENTS. . .
