Show State School (lead To Address Education?! Meet Dr. E. Allen Bateman state superintendent sup-erintendent of public instruction, will be keynote speaker at the annua! Rural Education Conference next month, reports Supt, Rowan C. Stutz, chairman of the planning committee. This conference, open to the public for participation, will be held at the Altamont High School on March 22 and 23. Six chief topics are to be discussed dis-cussed at the conference. In Group A, three topics will be presented by the. following speakers: "What Should Our Schools Accomplish?" by Mrs. Arietta Williams, former eiementary school supervisor for the Duchesne County School District; Dis-trict; "How to Get Good Teachers," Teach-ers," by Kay Allen, representing the Utah Education Association of Salt Lake City; "How Can We Get a Continuing Public Interest in Education?" by Farrell J. Humphreys, Hum-phreys, supervisor of secondary education and personnel guidance director for the Duchesne County School District, Group Topics Assigned Group B topics will' be presented, present-ed, as follows: "What Are Our School Building Needs?" by Max Abbott, superintendent for the Uintah County School Distrir; "How Can We Finance Our Schools," by Supt. Rowan Stutz for the Duchesne County School District; "In What Way Can We Organize Our Schools More Efficiently Ef-ficiently and Economically?" by Rondo Harmon, principal of the Altamont High School. In presenting these topics of discussion dis-cussion for the conference, for 30 minutes each of the six speakers wil! state the issues involved under each topic, then the groups will discuss for one hour their feelings and will list their decisions in each area so their elected group chairman chair-man can go in and summarize their findings with each of the other group chairmen. |
