A Salt Lake Temple marriage united the couple February 23 and they were complimented at a reception at the Duchesne Stake House March 3rd. They are making a home in Roosevelt. Reception And Dance Honor Newly weds At Duchesne Stale House Last Saturday BRIDGELAND (Special) Recent Re-cent newlyweds, Mr. and Mrs. Rul'on D.. Skinner, were complimented compli-mented Saturday evening at a reception re-ception at the Duchesne stake house, when over three hundred guests were present to offer congratulations con-gratulations to the couple. The new bride is the former Miss Ruth r Walters, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Walters. The groom is a son of Mrs. Violet Skinner of Arizona. Ari-zona. The couple pledged vows in the Salt Lake LDS Temple Thursday, February 23. For the reception the new Mrs. Skinner wore her wedding gown of white crepe back satin, fashioned fash-ioned with a fitted bodice and a lace yoke. The long sleeves were trimmed with tiny buttons. The shoulder-length veil was caught to a Juliette' cap of seed pearls. She carried a bridal bouquet of red roses and white gradenias. In the receiving line with the bride and groom were the bride's parents and the groom's mother, Mrs. Violet Skinner. The Misses Velda and Barbara Skinner, sisters of the groom were bridesmaids. They were dressed in pastel for-mals. for-mals. Mrs. Leland Wright, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. She wore a full-tength blue taffeta formal. Best man for the" occasion was Kumen Elsworth of Chino, Calif. Mother of the bride chose a full-length black crepe dress. The groom's mother wore a formal for-mal dress of blue lace. Their corsages cor-sages were of white' carnations. Dancing was enjoyed to Raw-lings' Raw-lings' orchestra and the following program was announced by master mas-ter of ceremonies, LaMar Neilson: vocal sojo, "O, Promise Me," Bertie Ber-tie Lisonbee, accompanied by Hazel Haz-el Walters; vocal solo, Mrs. Weston Wes-ton Bates of Duchesne, accompanied accompan-ied by Mrs. Walters; vocal duet, Naomi and Rulon Gilbert of Arcadia, Ar-cadia, accompanied by Sheryl Mer-rell; Mer-rell; piano solo, Hazel Walters; vocal solo, Grant Peel' of Alta-mont, Alta-mont, accompanied by Bonnie Ames; reading, Mrs. Grant Hansen Han-sen of Altamont; vocal solo, Lan-ny Lan-ny Ross of Myton, accompanied by Barbara Ross; vocal solo, Le-Roy Le-Roy Anderson, accompanied by Mrs. Keith Lemon of Roosevelt; reading, Mrs.. Marion Shields of Arcadia. Centering the' reception table I was a beautiful three-tiered white wedding cake, trimmed with bells and pink roses and topped with a miniature bride and groom. The cake' was made by Mrs. Lois Gillispie of Tooele, an aunt of the bride. In charge of serving were Mrs. Lois Stansfield, Mrs. Ethel Taylor, Mrs. Myrl Smith, assisted by the Bridgeland Bee Hive girls. Aunts of the' bride, Margaret Benson, Ben-son, Fern Jensen and Lois Gillispie Gillis-pie directed gift room arrangements. arrange-ments. Close relatives from out of the Basin attending the reception were: Mr. and Mrs. Grant Powell, Mr. and Mrs. Wendel Drouboy, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Walters and family, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Walters, Mrs. Margaret Benson and daughter, daugh-ter, Beverly of Salt Lake City; Mr. and Mrs. Jack GilMspie, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Shields, Mrs. Fern Jensen and daughter, Carolyn, Caro-lyn, Mrs. Pearl St. Clair of Tocele and Mrs.. Selma Nicklos of Downey, Dow-ney, Calif. The newlyweds are making their home' in Roosevelt. |
