Show Two Junior Gleaners Get Silver Gleaner Awards At Comradery One of the highlights of the Junior Gleaner activity during the year is the Silve Gleaner Comradery, Com-radery, in which each girl participates parti-cipates and invites her mother as a special guest. Two girls, Anna Lee Christensen and Yeteve Sweat received Silver Glean pins, awarded award-ed for filling all requirements. Yeteve Sweat, president of the Roosevelt ward Junior Gleaner class, conducted the ceremony and program presented Tuesday, Feb. 28, at the Roosevelt stake house. Prelude music was played by Va-Loy Va-Loy Reynold's. Mrs. Dot Ottosen, leader, welcomed wel-comed the mothers and other guests, after which Carma White gave the opening prayer A violin solo was played by Mrs. Alma Wills, accompanied by Mrs. David Watkins. Information on the Silver Gleaner Glean-er program was given by Anna Lee Christensen, followed by a talk, "Why I Want My Daugnter to Become a Silver Gleaner," by' Mrs. Fred Riding. A musical reading, read-ing, "I Have a Testimony," was given by Evone Whitehead, accompanied accom-panied by Miss Reynolds; a talk, "Why I Want to Become a Silver Gleaner," was given by Miss Sweat. Presentation of the two Silver Gleaner pins to Miss Sweat and Miss Christensen was then made by Mrs, Theron Leavitt, activity counselor. Mrs. Ottosen then presented pre-sented the girls with a large copy of the Gleaner Sheaf. Reading on friends were given by Gloria Riding and Margaret Oberhansly, followed by the closing clos-ing prayer by LaJean McKenna. Silver wheat reflected o na mirror formed the centerpiece with silver tapers on either end. Each girl was presented with a silver wheat corsage from Mrs. Ottosen. Lovely refreshments, also suggestive sug-gestive of the silver motif, were served by the girls. |
