Show Welcome home to the Pat Mar-keys Mar-keys who returned Tuesday after-a after-a three-month vacation trip to the Rio Grande Valley. They spent most of their time visiting relatives rela-tives at Mission, Texas, Pat said it was delightful sitting under the orange trees in the groves, but that he missed the people to talk to and the cars buzzing past every day. Although it was a most enjoyable en-joyable trip, they were happy to get home. Mrs. Parley Rawlings left Monday Mon-day night on a buying trip to Denver. She planned to return by bus this morning. . Denver visitors last weekend were Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Hall. The Gary Murdocks and their son, Gary Kim, are home' this week with their parents. They will return soon to studies at the Denver Den-ver Business College. The Standard received a letter this week from Elder Scott Ed-rington, Ed-rington, who is serving an LDS mission. He stated that he has been transferred from Jackson, Tenn to the Kentucky' West Dis trict to labor as a supervising elder. el-der. Mr. and Mrs, Harold Anderson of Layton, visited at the homes of Mrs. Anderson's daughters, Mrs. Lee Allred and Mrs. Rex Curry, last week. They were here to attend at-tend the funeral of Mrs. Mary Or-ser. Or-ser. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Sprouse drove to Wellington Monday to attend funeral services of Mrs. Sprouse"s sister, Inez Thayne. and Mrs. Vern Timothy are rejoicing over the arrival of a new grandson, Garth Alan, born March 2 to Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Bone of Layton, The little fellow weighed 6 lbs. 2 oz. and has two little brothers: Congratulations, parents and grandparents. Mrs. Keith Lemon wilL leave Friday Fri-day by United Airlines for Fairbanks, Fair-banks, Alaska, where she will join her husband who is serving as a radio operator with the' U. S. armed forces. He will be located at Fairbanks until July, 1957. Miss Carol Schaefermeyer enjoyed en-joyed the weekend home from Salt Lake' City with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Neal Schaefermeyer. Mr, and Mrs. Art Wooley and children, Annette and Connie, of Idaho Fall's left for their home Tuesday after visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Taylor. The Wooleys were in Utah to attend at-tend funeral services for Horace W Wooley at Vernal Returning Monday from a ten-day ten-day trip to the Northwest and' Nevada, were Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Labrum. They visited Mrs. Lab-rum's Lab-rum's sister, Mrs. Keith Jackson and family in Salem, Oregon, and Mr. Labrum's buddy, Bill Hickey and family at Ashland, Oregon. They also visited briefly in Elko, Nevada, with the Ned Bellons and Mr, and Mrs. Herb Bieber (Beth ' Broden). White the Labrums were vacationing vaca-tioning Mrs. Labrum's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. J Miller of Springville were here to tend their children. A card received this week from the Ray E. Dilhnans was sent from their liner, the Matson Lines Lux-ure Lux-ure Lurline, on which they are sailing to Hawaii. They stated that they miss everyone here'. They were to conduct services on the ship while sailing. The Dillmans will soon be at their destination Hawaii, to preside over the Hawaiian Ha-waiian LDS Temple. Word was received by Mrs. Angus An-gus Anderson of the birth of a baby daughter to her niece, Mrs. W. B. Starrer. The little Miss was born Feb 21 and her mother is the former, JoAnn Olsen. Proud grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Stan Eaton, reside in Salt Lake City. Mrs? Wm. H. Ruppel spent last week in Spanish Fork visiting her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs.. Marvin Stewart, and her grandson, A card from Ella Roberts indicated indi-cated that she has arrived in sunny sun-ny Pleasant Hill, Calif., where she will spend several months with her son and family. She stated that the fruit trees and flowers are all' in bloom and very pretty . Many former Union High School students, who are attending the various universities USAC, BYU and U of U returned home for the weekend mainly to witness the Uintah-Union basketball game we surmise. Noticed Gwennita Curry and Albert Collotzi from the U; Norman and Nerval Hanson, Merrell Goodrich and Darrus Ras-mussen Ras-mussen from the BYU. Little Joann Dickerson returned to her home Wednesday after spending a few days in the Roose--velt Hospital for medical' treatment, treat-ment, Mrs. Lynn Poulsen and new infant in-fant daughter, Becky Lynn, arrived ar-rived home from the Roosevelt Hospital1 Thursday morning with a grand reception awaiting them by the new arrival's three sisters, Kay, Nannette and Wendy. ' The little Miss was born Sunday, March 4, and tipped the scales at 7 lbs. 4 oz. Her grandmother, Mrs. J. F. Pritchett of Mt. Pleasant arrived ar-rived Monday to help care for the new arrival. Congratulations to the Poul'sens! Mr. and Mrs. Warren A. Brady of Salt Lake City visited recently for a week with their daughter, Mrs. Erma Labrum. Mrs. Labrum accompanied the LaVere Labrums to Phoenix last Thursday for a ten-day trip. The Jesse Aliens of Pleasant Valley are now at home after spending several months in Arizona |
