Show A Serious Situation .... Mayor Appoints CommitteeTo Study City Water Problems One of the most perplexing and serious problems to face Roosevelt City at this particular time will receive some expert study by a committee named this week by Mayor J. V. McLea. Mc-Lea. Where and how is Roosevelt City going to get the water required re-quired to adequately take care of the culinary needs of this growing cotnmunity? Is the problem Mayor McLea is asking a committee headed by Horace Allred. chairman, and composed of B. O Colton, Louie Galloway, Sam Weiss, C. L. Ashton, Kenneth Ken-neth Aycock and Lynn John-stun. John-stun. The latter two represent the city council. When the wells were drilled north-east of the city and, the new line was installed it was the belief of all concerned that the Roosevelt City water problems were solved. Engineers had assured as-sured the city officials of this fact. However, when the pumps were turned on and the real test given, the disappointment of an inadequate supply met the ctiy population. In announcing the appointment appoint-ment of the committee, Mayor McLea stated that he instructed the men to exhaust every idea and thought they might have as to a possible solution, and report re-port back to the council or September 1st. |
