Show . r Oohessie Olties Release Levies; yton increases The four incorporated cities and towns in Duchesne County have recently approved their 1953 tax levies and have presented pre-sented the information to the county commissioners. Only one community, Myton, shows an increase in-crease over the previous year and the other three have submitted sub-mitted identical tax rates. Myton has added an additional addition-al 4 mills for water purification and sewage disposal, which is allowed by Utah statutes, otherwise other-wise the levy would have been the same as 1952. Their new levy is 29 mills as compared with 25 for last year. Tabiona has an 8 mill levy, 4 for general purposes and 4 mills for operation of lights. They fall in the category of a town. An extra Wz mills has been added to public safety for this year. One mill of this has been taken from bond sinking and a half mill from street lights, electricity and other utilities. util-ities. All other departments will operate the same as in 1952. Roosevelt City will still maintain main-tain the highest levy in the county as the" mayor , and city council approved a 30 mill rate for 1953. All departments remain re-main the same as last year. This amount added to the 39.85 mills levied by the county, schools, and state will mean that taxpayers tax-payers in Roosevelt City will pay a total of 69.85 mills when they pay their tax notices next November. |
