Show had drawn up a budget for the next year and pro-rated it. Each city was to give money according to its size and possible budget. West Bountiful was asked to donate $5,000. Councilman Sam Allman indicated indi-cated that he is interested in getting new industry into the Bountiful area. COUNCILWOMAN Janes suggested sug-gested that the idea is a great one. People should be made aware of Bountiful and especially that there is truly a West Bountiful City. It was thought that the Chamber of Commerce might help with booths in trade shows. They might enter booths or blackboards in a lot of the things in the Salt Palace. They desire to continue to print a brochure which can be spread world wide concerning this area. AN IMPORTANT part of the meeting went back to the proposed Special Improvement District, composed of Sunnyview and part of Golden West Subdivision, 600 W., south of Pages Lane. After the improvement district is finished, it is possible that it will not stop all of the problems. Councilman Von Hill says that is is necessary that the district be done. There is no guarantee it will improve any problems, but needs to be tried. COUNCILMAN Bud Ingles said that he believes that some of the draining to be done by the district will dry up others. He feels it should be a law that there be no basements in West Bountiful. Carl Johnson was the only citizen present for the hearing of the preliminary budget. IT WILL take about 120 days to finalize the project since the engineering en-gineering has been done. Citizens who are part of the Improvement Im-provement District will have to pay a certain amount for ten years for improvements. The city will also finance part of the project which should be finished by the end of the summer. POLICE CHIEF Wayne Jeppson said he will be sponsoring a training session on how to use the radios for emergencies. Mrs. Janes said she feels her committee should be trained first. An open house is being planned for Principal Brice Hallows on May 23. He will be presented with a plaque. AGAIN THE council talked about ab-out getting the road done on 2200 N. east of 6th W. Mr. Dewell has tried to get help from Centerville city to no avail. It was decided to contact Centerville again. There are water problems at Summer Tree Twin Homes. Concern was expressed that j" trees at the park have been frozen and are dead. Councilman Allman said he feels they should wait to see if the trees will come out of it. THERE WAS discussion about the roads and their shape. It was noted that work has been done on iOlh North. There was an emergency when a drain was clogged on 10th N. Work is being done through Rosemanns. Here is a definite need to change the water ways near his home so ' hat there won't be flooding each ear.
