Show Woods Cross Ready To B egin Work On New 13 Acre Park WOODS CROSS -- A 13-acre city park near 1700 South and 1300 West is expected to be developed over the next two years at a cost of more than $300,000. WOODS CROSS city officials said the city will invest about half the necessary funds -- $160,000 which it already has available - while the state is expected to a grant of a matching amount. Mayor Lawrence Urry said the city received the grant funds I 'ate last year, but too late to begin work on the park. "WE EXPECT to start grading as soon as weather permits and lhe ground water level is such that heavy equipment can get on the site," he said. "Througout the summer we will install a ?Prinkling system, plant grass, shrubs and trees, and possibly a egging path." . He said that within two years the park should be developed to I mclude tennis courts, a baseball field, children's playground, a lamily-type bowery and rest rooms. |
