Mrs. Shreve serves as liaison be-tween be-tween the USPS and Rex Campbell for the KSL "Sound of Music" -program which features manv Utah poets. IN ADDITION to service to the -Poetry Society, Mrs. Shreve has . been a sounding board and critic for writing friends, of both poetn and prose. Her personal poetic achieve-ments achieve-ments include awards for both published pub-lished and unpublished poetry in the USPS and I x ague of Utah Writers Wri-ters and contests. Her poetry is in. eluded in three anthologies, and a " new book, "Gifts Only You Can Give." MRS.SHREVF.'Sbiographyuas . featured "In The Spotlight" of the April issue of the Utah State Pcetry ' Society New better. f ..-.v - MAXINE SHREVE One of the highest honors the Utah State Poetry Society can award, Honorary Life Membership, Member-ship, was conferred upon Maxine Croft Shreve at a recent annual Awards Festival held at the University Uni-versity of Utah. Only 16 Life Memberships Mem-berships have been conferred since the Utah State Poetry Society was founded in 1950. Mrs. Shreve's award was the first since 1976. THE UTAH State Poetry Society, Socie-ty, affiliated with the National Federation of State Poetry Societies and the Academy of American Poets, is comprised of 200 members in 12 chapters throughout the state. The "gratitude and appreciation" apprecia-tion" of these poets were expressed express-ed in the award to Mrs. Shreve for her service and leadership in chap- |
