Show Orman Earns Doctorate IN 1981 Dr. Van Orman was named "Professor of the Year" at WSC, was awarded a fellowship to study at USC in 1971-72. A son of Laural and the late Wil-ford Wil-ford Van Orman, he is married to Kathleen Dayton and they have four children. He served a mission to Hong Kong for the LDS Church. W. Roy Van Orman of Bountiful, Bounti-ful, an assistant professor of gerontology geron-tology at Weber State College since 1977, was among 28 students who received doctoral degrees from Brigham Young University. A 1955 graduate of Davis High School, Dr. Van Orman earned the Ed.D. degree in secondary curriculum curricu-lum and instruction through the College of Education. He earned a bachelor's degree in sociology in 1964 from Weber State, a master's degree in social work from the University of Utah in 1967 and a master's degree in public administration from the University of Utah in 1967 and a master's degree in public administration adminis-tration from the University of Southern California in 1972.
