'h claimed the Ion, f pPcjihon with a IS-10" hnv-,'hcsc 1W0 cvents '"A)of;nlcmt,sea,ndand WARNER WASN'T the only double winner for the victorious Viking squad as senior Troy Hanks won both the 1 10 high hurdles and the 300 intermediate hurdles and another senior Troy Gortat claimed the top spot in both the javelin and the shot put. Mike Allen and Reese Kidman took turns winning the long distance events as Mike won the 1600 meters, with Reese second, and then they switched finishes in the 3200 meters. Allen was a double winner though as he also won the 800 meters. Here is a look at the top four finishers, those who earned points in this tri-meet, in each event. HIGH HURDLES. Viewmont began the meet with a bang taking the first three spots with Troy Hanks, Jeff Meservy and Larry Chisholm. Rob Faddis of the Braves was fourth. 100 meters. Jon Warner of Viewmont View-mont ran one of his best races of the year with a time of 1 1 .01 which was good for first place with sophomore sopho-more Matt Bombard of Bountiful second and junior Ron Gomez of Woods Cross third. Greg Sharp of the Vikes was fourth. 1600 METERS. This was a three man race which finished with Mike Allen of Viewmont first, teammate Reese Kidman second and Darren Tuttle of Woods Cross third. Con Fox of the Vikes ran a fine race claiming fourth. 400 Meters. Tom McDonough of the Vikes kept his winning form in this race with Larry Anderson of Woods Cross second and Junior Avei of the Cats third. Bountiful got fourth with sophomore Darren Dean. INTERMEDIATE hurdles. 1 roy Hanks made his debut in this event a successful one as he edged Jeff Messervey and Kirk Tid well of the Vikes and Rob Faddis of Bountiful. 800 Meters. Mike Allen collected col-lected his double win on the night with this effort with Nelson and Sorenson giving the Vikes a one-two-three sweep with Knight of Bountiful fourth. 200 METERS. Warner ran away from the field in this race with Bombard second, Greg Sharp of the Vikes third and Ron Gomez of the Cats fourth. 3200 Meters. Reese Kidman got the win with Allen in second, Stephen Jones of Bountiful was third with Sorenson of the Vikings in fourth. RELAYS. Viewmont showed their depth as they captured all three first place ribbons in the relay events with Woods Cross in second each time. High jump. Goodrich, Tidwell and Chisholm gave the Vikes big points as they all edged Dave Critchley of Bountiful. DISCUS. Eden broke the Vike chain with a win here over Ditty, Neusch and Lopez of the Vikings. Longjump. Ostcn kept the Cats going winning this event over Tidwell, Tid-well, Chisholm and Beeton. POLE VAULT. Tim Jones went 1 1 '6" to win this event with Brandon Bran-don and Brown of Woods Cross second and third followed by Campbell of the Vikings. Javelin: Troy Gortat gave the Vikes another first as he finished ahead of Ison of Woods Cross, Douchette of Bountiful and Murry of the Vikes. Through thick and thin Jeff Meservy and Kirt Tidwell have spent their senior year together. In football, it was quarterback quarter-back Meservy passing the bomb to receiver Tidwell.
