Show Kahili's Ready Slide Show The Bahai's of Bountiful will present an exciting slide program on "Holy Places in Israel." Two of their members, Doris and Nelson Valken LeDuc recently returned from a pilgrimage to the Baha'i World Center in Haifa, Israel. WHILE THERE they visited places holy to Bahai's, Jews, Christians and Muslims. "It's truly amazing that four major world religions reli-gions have their spiritual centers in an area scarcely bigger than the Wasatch Front" was the reaction of Mr. Valken-Le Due when asked his impressions of the country. The slide program will feature pictures and narration by the Valken-Le Due's of some of the highlights of their trip. Bahai's recognize the validity of the Jewish, Christian and Muslim Faiths as well as their own. The Baha'i Faith began in 1844 when a young merchant of Persia declared that he was the forerunner of a promised messenger who would bring a revelation from God enabl ing all people to live in peace and unity. IN 1863 Baha'u'llah (translated as "The Glory of God") announced that he was the one foretold. Throughout his 40 year ministry he revealed over one hundred hun-dred volumes which renewed the spiritual teachings of previous religions reli-gions and laid a blueprint for world unity in this day. The Bahai's regard Israel as their spiritual center because it was in Akka, Israel that Baha'u'llah resided re-sided the last 24 years of his life, as a result of being exiled by the fanatical fana-tical Persian government. Bahai's believe that many prophecies of previous religions including the Bible Bi-ble were fulfilled by Baha'u'llah's banishment to the Holy Land. THE BAHAI'S invite you to attend the presentation. It will be held May 22, 8 p.m. at the home of Russ and Kathy Coover, 145 S. 200 E., Bountiful. For more information informa-tion call 298-4053 or 292-4534. |
