RON CREW up in Layton, attended Davis High School before enrolling at Weber State, where he majored in education and coached at Washington Junior High in Ogden. For the past 12 years, he has been working in the transportation industry, is presently pre-sently employed as an account executive with ABF Freight Systems. Mr. Osborn's immediate plans for the city recreation program, is to create a Little League basketball program for the youth, age 8-14 years. The sign-ups for youth basketball will be the last of November. "IT IS time that Farmington City becomes aggressive in its recreation program," Mr. Osborn stated. "We have farmed our youth out to other cities for their recreational needs in the past, and it is time we become involved and accept that responsibility," he concluded. "There will be a five-person advisory committee appointed to help run the needed programs, prog-rams, which will also include programs for the adult and elderly, as well as the youth," Ron said. It will be a lot of work, but he is excited to see a full program and an active one, finally happening. MR. OSBORN resides in Farmington with his wife Pat, the former Pat Parrish, who is a ranked tennis player in the Utah State Tennis Association. Associa-tion. They have three children, Trisha 14, Tonya 12 and Troy 8. kj Ron Osborn, Farmington, was named to the position of farminglon City Recreation Director. The announcement was made by the F armington cily council on Nov. 3, after personally interviewing the final three candidates. Til K COUNCIL had appointed a selection committee commit-tee lo review the 30 applications applica-tions which were received, then to interview the final five and finally select a director. Mr. Osborn has lived in Farmington for the past 16 years and has been active in sports in Davis County all his life. He is-currently, and has been for the past 1 1 years, the Deputy Utah State Amateur Softball Association Commissioner Commis-sioner and past president of that association. He has served for the past 12 years as |
