BOUNTIFUL -- Demetrio Cabanillas and Becky Bjornn were co-winners of the 1982 "Gobbler Gallop" 3-mile race, held last Saturday through Bountiful streets. DEMETRIO, who formerly ran for Brigham Young University Uni-versity and is a world-reknown distance runner, finished the race - on a cold, breezy morning morn-ing -- in 16 minutes 23.4 seconds. Becky, a young, talented distance runner from Bountiful Bounti-ful - who is presently running for Weber State College - was winner of the women's division divi-sion with an excellent time of 19 minutes. DAN PRICE, former Weber State College distance runner who recently came out of retirement, re-tirement, placed second in the men's division. Runner-up in the women's division was Mary Jane Cannon. It was the largest turnout for a Gobbler Gallop with nearly 300 participants. FOLLOWING the run, 15 turkeys were given away at a drawing. Winners were Gretchen Jackson. Rick Elphick.
