Show Commission Reviews Auto Bids FARMINGTON -- Bids for two Davis County Sheriffs vehicles were reviewed during the county commission meeting meet-ing last week. SEALED bids from four Davis County car dealerships were opened during the meeting meet-ing and reviewed by the commission com-mission members. Sheriff Brant Johnson said the Sheriff's department would review each bid before deciding from which auto dealership to purchase the vehicles. ED KENLY Ford presented the lowest bid of $18,598. Marion Ma-rion Willey Ford presented a bid of $19,930, while Olscn Chevrolet's bid totaled $21,550. The highest bid came from Murdock Chevrolet, who bid $21,930. The two vehicles to be purchased pur-chased by the sheriffs department depart-ment are four wheel drive trucks that will be used patroll ing both on-road and off-road areas within the sheriffs department's de-partment's jurisdiction. TWO TRADE-IN vehicles are included in the price of the bids. The vehicles are 1978 Trail Dusters currently used by the sheriff s department. Sheriff Johnson indicated that a review of each bid will be made by the sheriffs department depart-ment before it decides which bid to accept. The decision will be announced at a future commission com-mission meeting. THE COMMISSION approved several personnel actions presented by Personnel Person-nel director Mel Miles, including includ-ing a request to hire a new aide for mental health. The commission did not hold their regular Thursday meeting last week due to Vet-ran's Vet-ran's Day. All county offices were closed to commemorate the holiday. |
