Show Girl Scouts Gain Awards Utah Girl Scout Council's annual meeting to open with banquet and awards night in historic Union Station in Ogden, Nov. 12 7 p.m. AS A climax to the year-long celebration of Girl Scouting's ' 70th birthday, Ogdenites have researched their history in Girl Scouting that started with the first official troops opening in 1921. Highlights to the theme of "Daisy's Girls are 70" will be presented during the evening even-ing according to Mrs. Pat Corey, vice president of Utah Girl Scout Council and chairman chair-man of the affair. Community organizations and adult volunteers will be honored for their services to the Girl Scout program. There will be a giant birthday cake to top off the evening. DELEGATES representing South Davis County are Mrs. Jacque Neilson, neighborhood chairman; Mrs. Carma Hart, Leader Troop 187; Mrs. TyNea Sorenson, leader troop 888. Non-delegates who attended are Mrs. Mary Roth, leader 745; Robert Tanner, senior advisor and leader troop 349; Cydney Neilson, Shannon Shan-non Glass, Debbie Anderson, Desiree Rees, Cindy Ford, Liesl Tanner, Stephannie Shelton, Mrs. Barbara Shel-ton. Shel-ton. assistant leader troop 888. THE GIRLS participated in a special pizza birthday party on Friday night followed by the ever popular "sleep over". Special workshops will be conducted con-ducted on themes of fitness during Saturday's activities for the youth. |
