Show SUP Hold Feb. Meet Chapter President (ilen A. Hiown presided at a dinner-meeting dinner-meeting l eb. 23 for (he Sons of Utah Pioneers South Davis Chapter, at the Servus Drug Pine Koom. PICTURES of Presidents George Washington and Abraham Abra-ham Lincoln, also red, white and blue Hags and centerpieces offered patriotic atmosphere. Pledge of Allegiance to the Hag were conducted by Cleon Tucker, secretary. The group sang "God Bless America," conducted by Kenneth Ken-neth Wiseman, accompanied by E. Hanks. Newell H. Barlow Bar-low gave the invocation. President Presi-dent Brown welcomed the members and guests and then the group enjoyed dinner. Program chairman, presidentelect president-elect was Charles N. Barlow. RUTH B. Barlow gave a biography of her maternal grandmother Sarah Loader Holman, last surviving member mem-ber of Martin Handcart Co. "Those Guys" a male quartet quar-tet consisting of Wallace Smith, Gordon Homer, Richard M. Christensen and Ronald Barlow added enjoyable enjoy-able music to the program. It was recorded by Keith E. Bel-nap, Bel-nap, treasurer. GUEST speaker was James Jacobs of Ogden. life member of SUP, knowledgeable about 'Utah Lore' also origin and use of many unusual name information infor-mation was enjoyed by all. Gordon Pace gave the benediction. |
