Show West BnMatMM By ALICE MITCHELL February has run itself out and March is now on hand. The last of February brought snow storms, days of spring and days which were very cold. March will probably bring some winds. It is hoped that the w inds don't come from the east and leave the results of their usual devastation. Most people have been out in their yards, cleaning the refuge from their flower gardens and from their fields. It is hoped that there are not a lot of warm days, when the snow in the hills and mountains become waters which will eventually cause flooding in parts of the valley. Even Shakespear coined the phrase, "Beware the ides of March." March supposedly brings spring, but March always turns out to be a month of surprises. Supposedly if March comes in like a lamb, it will go out like lion and on the other hand, if it comes in like a lion, it is supposed sup-posed to go out like a lamb. Anyway March will be an interesting in-teresting month weatherwise. We know that spring is at hand, since the pussywillows have begun to show forth their beauty. If you want to preserve pre-serve some pussy willows, don't put them into water. Without water, they will stay soft and pretty as at first. With water, the pussy willows will continue on with their cycle of growth and will change into maturity.
