This was the third meeting between these to clubs since both of them played all season 1 the Bountiful fieldhouse league. In that ague O'Brien Glass defeated B&L Engines ke to claim the team championship, all in all )'Brien was undefeated on the year w hile their fponents had lost three games. NEITHER side had much problem getting ltothe finals with the most competition com-for com-for B&L Engines in the semi-finals w here tey met Mr. Mac and came away with a six cint win. -The final itself was a classic matchup with c:h sides taking turns leading. After a close irst half, B&L were up four, each side took a im in controlling the game. At first it was l&L w ho pulled away to a ten point edge only 3 see O'Brien pull even. Then it was the turn f the O'Brien club as they held a five point ad with just ov er a minute to play, but then verything fell apart for them. FIRST RAWLEE Perkins stole the ball and i a layup to pull his team to w ithin three 3U!fs and then the O'Brien club threw the ball ui of bounds. Quickly the B&L squad got nether bucket to pull w ithin a point w ith less lan a minute to play. Larry Burnett then hit a jmper to give his club a one point edge and Kn following a missed shot by O'Brien Buret! Bur-et! found himself at the foul line w ith a one d one situation. He hit one of the shots giving is team a two point advantage but then Cory Ms of O'Brien hit a big bucket with ten econds left and he was fouled, following a uccessful four shot O'Brien was up 65-65. . BOTH CLUBS have now been invited to play in the first annual Davis County tournament tourna-ment to be sponsored by Layton City. In this event the top two teams from Bountiful, Layton, Clearfield and Hill Air Force Base will meet in a double elimination affair later in March. In the consolation game Mr. Mac had little trouble in downing Our Gang, from the Bountiful Bounti-ful gym league, to claim third place. MEMBERS OF the championship B&L team were Rawlee Perkins, Larry Burnett (Bountiful High), Ron Adams (Davis). Jim Perkins Per-kins (Bountiful), Brad Christiansen (Bountiful) and Mike Kilgore (South and Weber State).
