Show County DUP March 12th The Helen Mar Miller camp met on Feb. 21 at the home of Ruth R. Brown, with Ethel Perry as co-hostess. DOROTHY Stewart Giller, special guest, helped serve the luncheon. Captain Irene Olsen gave the prayer and blessing on the food. She also conducted the meeting. Pledge of allegience to the flag was led by Ruth Brown. Theda Judd conducted and played the electric organ for song practice of the theme song "Daughters of the Utah Pioneers" and "The Girl I Left Behind." DOROTHY Stewart Giller presented the camp the minutes mi-nutes of the first organization of a DUP camp in Davis County. Coun-ty. This was the Aurelia S. Rogers Ro-gers camp organized on Nov. 6, 1917 in the old adobe Ladies Hall with the members of the Relief Society, pioneer descendants de-scendants in Farmington Ward. She also gave the camp several pictures of Aurelia S. Rogers and other early pioneers in this area. Captain Irene Olsen gave announcement of county election elec-tion to be held at the home of Arietta Williams on Saturday, Feb. 26, the county convention conven-tion to be held March 12 and the DUP Jubilee on May 17. CLARA Richards read the history of Arthur Stayner, early ear-ly pioneer of 1855. The lesson on several native pioneers was given by Maud Mayfield. Members present were Irene Olsen, Ruth Brown, Ethel Perry, Clara Richards, Marvel Mayfield, Theda Judd, Alice Johnson and Maud Mayfield. |
