Show Art Funding Council Organized Concerned ciliens in the South Davis area have formed a nun profit foundation, the Bountiful Davis Art l'ounda-tion, l'ounda-tion, to raise an endowment of $200,000 for the Bountiful-Davis Bountiful-Davis Ait Center. The goal of C lie Foundation is to establish the fund lo provide the Center with an on going support base lo oil-set eulhaeks in funding from traditional public sources. DR. HARRIS O. Bernhisel of Bountiful will act as chairman chair-man for the fundraising drive. A meeting was held on Tuesday, Tues-day, Feb. 22 at the Bountiful-Davis Bountiful-Davis Art Center to introduce Dr. Bernhisel to other members mem-bers of the Foundation, the Bountiful-Davis Art League board, and the Art Center stall", and to set a time table for the drive. Speakers included Newell P. Parkin and Frank Newman of the Foundation, Anion J. Kasmusscn, director of the Center, Susan Underwood, president of the Bountiful-Davis Bountiful-Davis Art League and Dr. Bernhisel. Ber-nhisel. THE BOLNTIUJL-Davis Art Center was established in 1974 as a cooperative project between Bountiful City and the University of Utah's Division Divi-sion of Continuing Education and Department of Art. A major ma-jor expansion and renovation was accomplished in 1979 through public and private contributions. The Center serves as a cultural resource for Davis County providing traveling exhibits to the schools, a gallery w ith changing chang-ing exhibits, theatre and musical productions, children's chil-dren's art classes and other special events. Businesses, service organizations, organi-zations, and individuals throughout the Valley will have the opportunity to participate parti-cipate in the drive as charter members of the Foundation. THE BOUNTIFUL Davis Art Foundation received tax exempt status as a Foundation from the Internal Revenue Service Ser-vice on Nov. 23, 1981. |
