Ellis, 365 W. 1450 N., Bountiful. She has been awarded the Elizabeth J R. Hayes Modern Dance : Scholarship. i : THE AWARD is a tuition I waiver, renewable for four years of study at the Univer- :-' sity of Utah, the most pres- ' tigious modern dance scholarship offered at the i University. i Kim began her dance career with Maxine Conk, Bountiful, at the age of five. She quit her lessons a year : later and didn't renew them : until she was in the eighth grade at Cenlerville Jr. High. SHE THEN studied ballet under Norma Anderson, Bountiful, for three years. She ended her lessons at Nor-ma's Nor-ma's Studio when she was at Viewmont High and began taking modern dance from Layne Wassom as a class at school. During her two year career at Viewmont, where Kim is presently a senior, she was in Viewmont's first dance concert con-cert "The First Time" under the direction of Mrs. Donna Phillips, and "It Comes Softly Crying Life," this year's concert con-cert at Viewmont, under the direction of Mrs. Raelynne Shepherd. KIM IS tthe granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Howard Ellis, 175 E. 100 N., Clearfield and will graduate from Viewmont with honors. She will begin her studies at the University of Utah in the fall quarter. |
