IN RETURN for his soul, the Devil agrees to transform middle-aged Joe into a young, unbeatable ballplayer. The Devil employs the services ser-vices of Lola, a seductive witch, to tempt Joe into staying stay-ing on the side of the Devil. "WHATEVER Lola Wants, Lola Gets" and "Ya Gotta Have Heart" are some of the memorable songs written by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross. "Damn Yankees" received the Antoinette Perry Award as the season's best musical. "PAINT Your Wagon" will be the final show of the season, running from July 31 to Aug. 30. Frederick Loewe and Alan Jay Lerner, authors of "My Fair Lady" and "Camelot" wrote this musical with songs like "They Call the Wind Maria." "Paint Your Wagon" is the story of Ben Rumson and his daughter, Jennifer, who are searching for gold in California Califor-nia in 1853. Jennifer finds a gold nugget while getting water from a stream and word of a new gold strike spreads like wildfire. SOON Jennifer and her father Ben are surrounded by a crown of gold-hungry miners, all of whom are determined de-termined to make a fast fortune. for-tune. the music has a genuine folk-music character. IMPRESARIO Robert Hyde Wilson is director of the Lagoon Opera House Company Com-pany called the University of Utah Theatre Players. David C. Dahlquist is musical director.
