Show rsvp Funded For Year The RSVP (Retired Senior -Volunteer Program) has successfully suc-cessfully completed a 10-week probationary period and will be funded for another year. STATE OFFICIALS claimed, earlier this year, that there wasn't enough volunteer service to justify continuation of the program. Director Sydney Noble told the County Commission that they had been successful in recruiting 72 volunteers. There will be 112 when the papers are fully processed, he said. HE ASKED the commis-, sioners about some borderline problems. There are some senior volunteers who live in Davis County but serve in Roy at the Weber Memorial Hospital. Hos-pital. "Since Davis County citizens ci-tizens go there, we could include those volunteers in our count," said a commissioner. commis-sioner. Mr. Noble said he had a similar problem where Salt Lake volunteers came to Bountiful to participate in the Golden Years Center orchestra, orches-tra, which is under the direction direc-tion of RSVP. THE Commissioners said the fair thing to do was to let Salt Lake City county them. There are only three out of the 17 member orchestra who come from out of the county, he pointed out. Davis County will receive $18,000 in federal money for the coming ten-month period to continue the program, the County's share will be 4200, making a total program of $23,000. lb |
