Show Band & Orchestra Group instructions given for Beginner Begin-ner commencing June 10. Those interester call or phone Mr. K. J. Bird, American Fork. Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Bush of Eureka, formerly of this city, announce an-nounce the arrival of a baby daughter daugh-ter to bless their home. The young lady was born Sunday noon at the Crane Maternity Home in Provo. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Varney and famiily of Brigham City and Mr. and Mrs. Sam Kelly of Provo, were Saturday visitors at the home of Mrs. Emily Kelly. Little Misses Ida Mae and Alton Varney visited until Tuesday with their grandmother, Mrs. Kelly, while Miss Emily Currie returned to Brigham City with her mother for a visit. - Mrs. M. L. Baird entertained the Contract Bridge club at her home Thursday evening. Those present were Mesdames David Taylor, V. F. Houston, Stanford Briggs, Leo Meredith, Mere-dith, Glen Sykes, James Chadwick and Mark Coddington, members, and Eldon Chipman a guest. The high score favor was won by Mrs. Glen Sykes and the consolation award by Mrs. Mark Coddington. The Junior Literary League held their regular meeting Monday evening eve-ning at the home of Mrs. Adair Bromley, who was also program hostess. hos-tess. Mrs. Kenneth Noyes was in charge of the meeting. K. J. Bird gave a talk on types of music and a revew of the opera "Cavalier Rus-ticanna." Rus-ticanna." Miss Maxine Taylor played play-ed a violin solo from the opera. The program also included two vocal solos, "Villia" and "Beautiful Lady in Blue," by Clayton. Green. Mrs. Merling D. Clyde attended a meeting of the Salt Lake chapter of the League of Western Writers Mon- day evening at the Art Barn. Waide M. Condon, Sunday editor of the Salt Lake Tribune, addressed the group on writing feature articles for local newspapers.
