Show New run to open at ski area The already-existing Quittin' Time run is to the left of the lift. Both are intermediate runs, said Bowers, about the length of the Nastar or Hidden Splendor runs. They begin near the junction of the Payday and Nastar runs. , The run will be seeded before the i ski season begins, Bowers said, and the vegetation will stay dormant through the winter. The new run will handle about 1,800 skiers an hour. With the addition addi-tion of Creole, the ski area has 82 runs that can transport 18,700 skiers an hour. Parkites are used to seeing new ski runs created but having one course down right into the historic area of town is relatively novel. As summer drew to a close, residents noticed the bare ground of a new run slashing down the hill above Old Town. According to Park City Ski Area tradition, it is named for an old mine in the area, the Creole. The ski area tries to name its runs after mines, said communications communica-tions director Ed Bowers. Creole will be ready for use with the opening of ski season and the Old Town Lift, based at the old Coalition Building site on Park Avenue. Located to the right of the lift (looking up from street level), Creole runs down to the loading station sta-tion midway on the Old Town Lift, which will carry skiers across Park Avenue just above Old Town rooftops. |
