Show Men golfers to tee off Saturday The Park City High School girls' tennis team defeated Morgan 4-1 last week, winning all three singles competitions but dropping one of the two doubles pairings. Cori Ann Martinez defeated Rachel Jones 6-0, 6-1 in the No. 1 singles spot and Stephanie Holcomb downed Jane Patterson 6-0, 6-1 in No. 2 competition. As the third single, Kara Glidden got by Julie McGrew 6-2, 2-6, 6-1. Park City won the No. 1 doubles competition when Layle Arenskov and Julie Burnett teamed to defeat Christie Peterson and Trish Bindrop. Morgan came back to win the No. 2 doubles as Kelly Zyzelewski and Carol Yaeger downed Jana Burton and Jennifer Hunt 6-0, 6-4. The Miners will play again Sept. 26 at the region tournament at Liberty Park, 1300 S. 500 East, Salt Lake City. On Oct. 1 they will play in the zone tournament tour-nament also to be held at Liberty Park. The final competition of the year will be the state tournament at Brigham Young University in Provo. |
