Show that it snows every now and again around here. It was I who spoke to Ms. Moyer on the telephone after her arrival in Park City. I tried to explain what problems we faced and how we had approached them. At that time I offered her a refund of what she thought would be fair. She declined. I'm sorry she felt the need to further verbalize her sentiments. sen-timents. Lewis Bros. Stages provides a variety of transportation services to and from Park City. One is an airport limo, a non-scheduled service by reservation, priced at the going rate. We also have a regular scheduled service, priced a little lower. Ms. Moyer made a reservation for a ride upon arrival of her flight. She obviously was discontented at riding a motor coach for the limo rate. We have learned that our customers equate coaches with the schedule. Since January we charge schedule rates whenever we upgrade the size oi equipment from a van. Rest easy, Park City. If you ride our schedule, and it's a van, you'll be charged with the schedule rate. Lewis Bros. Stages has been in business since 1914. We've served generations of Utahns. We've been coming and going in Park City for a long, long time. We feel we are fair and responsive to the needs and wishes of Park City residents and visitors. Please, stop by and let us know how we're doing. Today, Park City is one of the most exciting resort towns in the West. We're proud to be a part of its growth. The roads have never been better; the Park City Transit has never been better. The outlook has never been better for Park City. You can't make everyone happy, but we certainly do try. We are committed to getting Park City's visitors here and back both safely and well satisfied. Sincerely, Brian Cambria Lewis Bros. Stages We did our best Dear sir, A letter last week from a recent Park City visitor relayed her dissatisfaction with transportation services to and while in Park City. If I may be permitted, a word on behalf of these services, please. On any given day, operating a transportation service in and around the Wasatch Mountains is, at best, difficult. Ms. Moyer's experiences were indicative of one general problem that plagues us all: Everyone wants to go at once. Ms. Moyer mentioned that her flight was late arriving in Salt Lake City. That day, that week, every flight was late. The weather around the whole country could have been termed "poor" traveling weather. Utah was no exception. In fact, we were setting records. Ms. Moyer did indeed have a reservation for a seat on a van with Lewis Bros. However, it was difficult to anticipate when and where to provide vans when all flights were delayed and reservations walked hours and in some circumstances even days later than expected. In very few cases did any of the travelers have an opportunity to advise us of their new estimated time of arrival. And then, they all came in at once. Quite frankly, it was near the limit of our ability to provide service of any kind in a timely fashion under those circumstances. As quick as we could, we sent vans and buses to the airport to accommodate everyone, especially our reservations. I am proud to say that although we waited for delayed flights, we waited while baggage was sorted, presented and claimed (another (anoth-er delay), Ms. Moyer did not have to wait for us. I'm sorry that our driver got stuck in a narrow turn on a barely-plowed side street. It may have been the first time some of those passengers got stuck in the snow, but it surely wasn't a first for anyone who has enjoyed a few winters in the Wasatch. Rumor has it |
