Show Snow removal ordinance The City Council is scheduled, once again, to act on what has been described as a tough new snow removal ordinance. The vote on the proposal has been deferred several times because be-cause snow removal contractors, city councilmen and city staff members have disagreed as to how far reaching the regulations should be. As written, the ordinance charges property owners with clearing private drives and parking areas after a snow storm under penalty of a misdemeanor. The maximum fine for misdemeanor is $299 with a possible 30 day jail sentence. The ordinance appears on today's City Council agenda. The meeting is set for 5 p.m. |
