Show Jon Nelson, former city finance director, dies Jon Morris Nelson, 40, died May 18 at his home in Park City from cancer. Born Jan. 18, 1944 in Logan, he was the son of Cyril Raymond Nelson (deceased) (de-ceased) and Celia Susan Buck. He married Helen Marie Harrison in the Salt Lake Temple September 3, 1969. They are the parents of three children: David Jon,-Daryl Jon,-Daryl Neal, and Kathryn Marie. Nelson graduated from University High in Los Angeles, attended Santa Monica Junior College, LDS Business College, and received receiv-ed a B.S. degree from Brigham Young University. He served a 2' 2 year mission to Sweden for the LDS Church. He was a member of the LDS Church, Park City 2nd Ward. He was also a licensed amateur radio operator oper-ator (WB7AEL). Jon was a Certified Public Accountant and had worked for the Utah State Auditors Office, the W inward Foley & Co. and the Tanner Brunson & Pickett accounting firms in Vernal, and was employed as Park City Municipal Corporation Corpora-tion finance director until his illness forced him to stop working. In addition to his wife and children, Jon is survived by mother, Celia Nelson, brothers, bro-thers, Raymond Max Nelson, and Dee B. Nelson, sister, Tenna (Mrs. Tom) Magee, all of Los Angeles, and father-in-law, Norris Harrison of Vernal. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Olpin Mortuary in Heber. Services were held Tuesday, Jon Nelson May 22. the Park City LDS Chapel. Burial services were in the Rockpoint (Maeser) Cemetery in Vernal.
