Show County named disaster area The Summit County Commission voted Tuesday to declare the county a disaster area. This would qualify the county to receive federal or state emergency funds, said Commissioner Commission-er Cliff Blonquist, although no such money is available presently. Blonquist said their are four earth, slippage areas around Chalk Creek, and there is slippage in Summit Park. Five miles east of Coalville, a complete section of the Chalk Creek Road is sinking, despite county efforts to lay base gravel over the area. Until other sources of money appear, said Blonquist, the county is funding repairs from the Chalk Creek Special Improvement District. |
