The biggest drop in enrollment this season comes in the coed league, down from nine teams last year to four. The men's league also shows a significant drop, from 12 teams to nine, while the number of women's teams has slipped from five to four. The schedule calls for a preseason tournament to be held June 3 with regular-season regular-season play beginning June 10. Supervising the softball league this summer will be Jan's Mountain Outfitters. Also in the chase again is Doc's, a perennial men's league contender. Other returning men's teams are the Coconuts and the End Run Tavern. The new teams in the men's league included Ryan's Cutthroats, Park City Accommodations, Deer Valley Resort Lodging, Park City Municipal Corporation and PennWest Securities (made up of the core of last year's Park Meadows Racquet Club team). Battling for the title in the women's league this season will be three familiar teams--Just Arnie's, Janeaux's and Sneakers along with one newcomer, the Mad Hatters. The coed league includes two veteran teams-St. Mary's and the Park Record and two newcomers new-comers Baja Cantina and the Dumpsters (sponsored (spon-sored by Turner Competition Services). |
