Show Reba Sessions Shields Park City resident Reba Sessions Shields died May 18 in a Salt Lake hospital. She was 74. She was born Aug. 29, 1909 at Heber, Utah to Adolphe and Chloe Young Sessions. She married Lewis Christian Shields Dec. 16, 1925 in Heber. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Mrs. Shields was active in the LDS Relief Society and was a visiting teacher. She lived most of her life in Park City. For 50 years, she met with her mother and sisters in their handicraft han-dicraft club. She was preceded in death by her husband and a daughter, Darlene. She is survived by Lewis Glenn Shields, Layton; Mrs. James (W. Joyce) Cooksey, of West Jordan; Mrs. Ford (Donna) Farley, of Taylorsville; Darrell E. Shields, of Salt Lake; Melvin W. Shields, of Taylorsville; and son-in-law Earl Leatham of Heber. Other survivors include sisters Mrs. Violet Terry, Mrs. Evelyn Price and Mrs. Lila Jolley (all of Park City); Mrs. Nina Mair, Mrs. Sarah Beckstead, Mrs. Barbara Jolley (all of Heber) ; Mrs. Maxine Kummer, of Salt Lake; brothers Bernard Sessions and Boyd Sessions, of Salt Lake; Kenneth Sessions of Heber City; 21 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Midvale East Sixth Ward. Interment was at the Park City Cemetery. James Lee Cortsen James Lee Cortsen died May 15 of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was 23. Cortsen was an employee at Stein's Lodge in Deer Valley. He was born Jan. 14, 1961 in Salt Lake to Norman R. and Betty June Johnson Cortsen. He was a member of the LDS Church. He is survived by his parents; brothers Martin J. and Daniel N. Cortsen; sisters Mrs. Theodore (Rebecca A.) Wood, Katrina M., Harriet L. and Margaret E. Cortsen, all of Salt Lake; niece Heather and many close friends. Funeral services were held Friday. Interment was in Lake Hills Memorial Park. Jeanette Fox Memorial services are (tentatively) scheduled for Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church for Jeanette Fox, who died Sunday evening at her home in San Diego. Fox is survived by her children, Aubrey and Michael, and their father, George, who lives in Northern California. Funeral services will be held Friday in her hometown of Gaylord, Michigan. |
