Show Streets plan to be aired A City Council hearing on May 31 will look at the future for Park City's streets. The meeting will examine the official of-ficial Streets Master Plan, according to City Planner Bill Ligety. The plan itself will propose the location of major city streets and accompanying rights of way the city needs to obtain for the roadways. The plan puts city streets into basic categories defined by the rights of way they require. Ligety said a 100- foot right of way is recommended recom-mended for major avenues like highway 224, Kearns Boulevard and the forthcoming forth-coming belt route. Collector roads, like Marsac, Holiday Ranch Loop Road, etc., would have 60-foot rights of way. Roads in Old Town that are often steep and narrow would require a 30-foot right of way. Property owners with street frontage who want to know whether proposed rights of way will intrude on their land may check the city's inventory map and street plan map, which Ligety said will be presented at the hearing. A trails map is also included in the plan, he said. The master plan does not specify which roadways will be addressed first. Ligety said that is a budgeting decision to be made at the City Council level. The hearing is scheduled for 5 p.m. Thursday, May 31, in the Marsac Building. |
