Show High school addition estimated at $1 million Ralph Edwards of the Salt Lake architectural firm of Edwards and Daniels presented pre-sented the Park City school board with drawings late Tuesday night of the proposed propos-ed new math and science wing at the Park City High School. The addition, totalling total-ling a projected 14,000 square feet, was proposed at a cost of $1.04 million. The new wing will house a central double lab space with three new science classrooms built on either side. The math section will be designed with a central computer lab room surrounded by an additional three classrooms. Restrooms for the addition are planned at the west end of the building adjacent to the football field and are designed design-ed with a double locking door to allow access during games. School Board President Gary Avise pointed out this revised estimate was some $69,000 greater than an estimate proposed by the firm two weeks ago. Edwards replied that some of the square footage and details of the plan had been changed resulting in the cost increase. Edwards also introduced two schedules for completion of the project based on the time frame described by high school principal Jack Dozier. A fast track schedule started this fall could result in completion by the fall of '85. A more leisurely schedule, yet one in keeping with the needs of the students, would see completion by January, 1986. The board took no action on the plan but agreed to assemble a committee to report to the firm no later than one month from now. The board tentatively agreed to the schedule which would allow completion of the project by January, 1986. |
