Show IPodIISc IH!epirtt Manhole anglers draw complaint from Thaynes Canyon resident The Park City Police Department answered calls this past week that ranged from a lost diamond to a complaint of fishing through a manhole. Thefts, public intoxications and DUI assaults rounded out the week for the PCPD. On June 12, Park City police arrested a 33-year-old Park City man for public intoxication at 573 Main St. Officers first observed the suspect, according to the report, as he was slugging another person on the street. Also on June 12, Justin Simpson reported to the PCPD that his bicycle was stolen from the Associated Title Building. The bike is described as a silver Kuwa-hara Kuwa-hara with black "California pads." It is valued at $248. Richard Taylor told police on June 11 that he had apparently lost his wallet in the vicinity of the Holiday Village Mall. It is described as brown and nylon containing contain-ing $80 in cash as well as a Visa card and a driver's license. On June 11, Robert Loge-feil Loge-feil told police that he had lost a ono and one quarter carat diamond. The $3,000 rock could have fallen off his ring while he was doing yard work, Logefeil stated. Alpha Beta security officers offi-cers busted a 43-year-old Park City woman for shoplifting shoplift-ing on June 9, according to the police blotter. The report states that she had consumed a package of cashew nuts in the store and then left the premises with a tube of fingernail preparation without with-out paying for either one. The fingernail preparation was valued at $4.63. On June 9 a case of "criminal mischief" was reported to the police department. depart-ment. Larry Gene White of West Valley City told police that an employee of the Holiday Inn had kicked in the door of his 1972 Dodge. Apparently that employee, Don Lee Rieser, had suspected suspect-ed White of stealing money from him. George Dawson reported to the Park City police on June 8 that someone was fishing through a manhole on his property on Webster Drive. According to the report, when police officers advised the fishermen that they were on private property, proper-ty, they left the scene. On June 7, Park City police arrested a 26-year-old Park City woman for DUI and assault. According to the report, officers stopped her after the car she was driving was observed to be speeding and crossed the center line on Park Avenue. The suspect was verbally abusive to officers and then began hitting and kicking them. She was booked into the Summit County Jail on both counts. Also on June 7, Steven Ruth reported to the police department that items totaling total-ing $1,200 were stolen from his car whie it was impounded impound-ed at the city lot. Missing are: tools valued at $700, a tent valued at $280 and ice-climbing boots worth $250. A 28-year-old Parowan woman was arrested June 6 for public intoxication. According Ac-cording to the report she was arrested in her automobile at the Holiday Inn. After failing sobriety tests, she was booked into the County Jail. In the coming weeks, the Park City Police Department will be removing signs from posts around town advertising advertis-ing garage sales. Cars with "for sale" signs that are parked on public property or on public rights-of-way such as Utah Highway 224 in front of Adolph's, will be ticketed, according to the PCPD. There will also be strict enforcement enforce-ment of the two-hour parking limit on the open portion of j Main Street, according to police department spokesmen. |
