Show National award goes to Clark Carol 1. Clark, consumer education specialist in the Utah Attorney General's office, was named as one of six national Young Women of Achievement by the National Council of Women of the United States. The only representative from the western states, Dr. Clark received the award for the program of consumer education she initiated in 1982 under the direction of At--torney General David L. Wilkinson. Wilkinson hired Clark to start the first consumer education program even developed in the Utah Attorney General's office. In her position, Clark has given over 250 talks in 20 months, written numerous articles, and worked with community groups statewide. Author of a consumer column published in regional newspapers, Dr. Clark also appears weekly on KSL Televisions's "Good Buys" segment of the Friday noon news. Dr. Clark is a member of the Better Business Bureau board of directors, the Governor's Securities Sraud Task Force, the Utah State Medical Association's Unproven Medical Practices Committee, and the Ford Motor Company Denver Region Consumer Con-sumer Appeals Board. The National Council of Women, founded in 1888, presents Young Women of Achievement Awards annually an-nually to outstanding women who have excellent in the business, voluntary and professional fields at an early age. Other winners were from Arkansas, Ohio, New York, and South Carolina. |
