Show Lodge, lift expansion underway in Deer Valley Deer Valley continues with the expansion of the Pinnacle, Pin-nacle, Fawngrove and Queen Esther projects. She said several new properties are presently under construction con-struction (La Maconnerie, Sterling Wood and the Stag Lodge), and additional projects are scheduled to start shortly. The new Deer Valley tennis center will open in June with six new courts and a pool, she said. Reconstruction of the Silver Lake Lodge in Deer Valley is already under way, according accord-ing to Karen Santa Maria, the resort's new media relations manager. The lodge, which was damaged by fire which broke out late Monday, May 7, will also undergo a previously-planned expansion expan-sion to add additional seating for 150 and an enlarged buffet area, Santa Maria said. Because of the damage, the Cafe Mariposa will not open this summer, she said. However, the Huggery at the Snow Park Lodge is serving lunch Monday through Saturday and brunch on Sunday. Santa Maria also announced announc-ed that construction of Deer Valley's two new triple chairlifts is progressing on schedule. Lift towers have been delivered and will await placement while lift lines are being cut on Bald Eagle and Bald mountains. The cutting and clearing of eight new runs and Mayflower Bowl will begin in early June, she said. This 60-acre addition will increase in-crease Deer Valley's ski terrain by 30 percent, and change the ability split to 15 percent Beginner, 50 percent Intermediate and 35 percent Expert.
