Show Twilight Run is around the corner So you like to run after work, and you like to go four or five miles, and you think you're pretty fast probably, right? Well, then, put your money where your feet are and enter the ninth annual Park City Twilight Run, where participants will whiz through the approaching darkness at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 23. Doug Beck, race director, said this year's race will wind through Park Meadows for four miles, starting and finishing at the Park City High School. The run is an official Utah Grand Prix race, according to Beck, one of the top 1 5 races in the state. Last year, in a rainstorm, 586 people turned out for the event. With good weather Beck expects participation to go well above that total. Registration is limited to 800, however, he said. Registration must be in advance. Entries must be received by Thursday, June 21 at 5 p.m. Entries with name, address, phone, age, sex, and shirt size, along with the $6 entry fee, should be mailed to Doug Beck at 438 East 1300 South. Salt Lake City, Utah 84115. Make checks payable to Rocky Mountain Sports Promotions. Your $6 entry fee will include a muscle shirt, awards and a post-race part at Prospector Square Athletic Club from 7:45 to 10 p.m. Bud Light is furnishing the refreshments. Other sponsors of the Twilight Run are the Athlete's Foot, KCPX and Nike. For more information call 485-1494 and ask for Doug Beck. |
