Show j Brigham City Social Notes j (Special to the Ogden Standard.) Brigham City, Jan. 6. Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Lowe entertained at "500" Friday Fri-day evening at their homo on South Main street. The rooms were boau tlfully decorated with pink tea roses and other seasonable effects and supper sup-per was served after the game. The guests included Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Day, Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Hoist, air. and Mrs. J. F. Ryan. Mr. and Mrs. j Waldemar Call, Mr. and Mrs. Sperrv W. Lawson, MIsbos Violet Madseri. I Rula Eleanor Ward, Olive Jenson, Nadine Dunn, Lavon Mason; Jos. So-ble, So-ble, J. L. Pierce, Willis Morgan and George A. Ward. Mr. and Mrs Charles Edwards were host and hostess to a number of their freinds who formerly resided in Lehl, but who are now residing In this city. Miss Mattie West delightfully en tertained at a home dancing party at the home of Mr and Mrs. Joseph A. West New Year's night In compliment com-pliment to Miss Mamie Lishmann of Baker City, Oregon, who has been her guest for quite a number of das. Refreshments were served and the house decorations were in keeping with tho holiday spirit. Among those present were Misses Edna Stohl. Alda Neeley, Mamie Lishmann, Zola Call. Morten-'sen. Floyd Knudson, Ainos Hatch, Joseph A. Josephbon. A. H. Woodruff. Wood-ruff. Chester Knudson and Clyde Stratford ol Logan. Mrs. Ropcita Lovcland and Mrs Ixtuisa Babcock, the latter of Dew. eyville, entertained about forty mem bers of their respective families at a reunion Saturday, Sunday and Mon day. Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Carver havo pone to California, where they will spend the remainder of the winter. Ml. Carver will study municipal engineering en-gineering while in California. Miss Amber Hanson of this city, who has been appointed a clerk in the senate chamber of the legislature, will spend two months in Salt Lake, during which time she will also study music under Prof. Squire Coop. Tuesday Mrs. L. P. Nelson .in-nounced .in-nounced the engagement of her daughter, daugh-ter, Iva, to Rufus Parker of Willard. The marriage will take place next Wednesday. Tuesday Justice H. M. Flggins united in marriage Rollie Busby of Perry and Laverne Tippets of George town, Idaho. Joseph Cnll of Denver is the gnesf of his cousin, Miss Zola Call, of this city for a lew days He will return to Denver soon. Mr. and Mrs Wilford Anderson, Judge J. D. Call. John D. Peters, ynn L. Eddy and Misses Maud Forsgren and Luella Fife were among those from Rri?ham who attended in the Monday. Miss Maurlne Kotter of Logan spent a few days of the week in Bricham visiting her father, Henry L. Kotter. She was accompanied by Miss Carlson, Carl-son, who was her guest while here Miss Ellen Pyper of Salt Lake was the puest of her cousin. Miss Winnie Bowrlng, during the week. Clyde Stratford of Logan was tha guest of Bevard and Delore Nichols a few days during the early part of the week. Miss Florence Valentine was up from Salt Lake early in the week spending a few days visiting her mother, moth-er, Mrs. Sophy Valentine. Miss Maurlne Kotter entertained at dinner Sunday evening. Afterward the evening was spent in playing pro, CTessive high five. ' , Mrs Yerna Norr of Logan spent a few days of the past week in this city visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. David Dav-id Reese. Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Jensen of Moore, and Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Jensen of Blackfoot, Idaho, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Will F. Kotter a few days during the vseek. The Civic Improvement club, which held its meeting the latter part of last week, announced that the annual ball will be given in the dancing academy on February 7th This ball gles promise of being the big social event of the winter. oo |
