Show DISMISS BALL FRAT'S PETITIONS1 ' Cincinnati. Jan. 6 The national I baseball commission today dismissed the petitions of the Baseball Players' , fraternity. Of the four concessions asked, the commission held that three did not refer to major leagues and therefore ' held that they were internal attalrs j ; of the national association and could ' ; come before the commission only on , appeal. The other concession asking that players who are injured in service serv-ice be entitled to full pay as long as they are held under contract was also dismissed. Th" supreme court of baseball in I taking this action says: "Inasmuch as the commission has : never approvd a major league contract empowering a major league ciub to suspend a player disabled without pay ' and as the form of contract approved j for 1917 requires the club to retain 1 a player injured in its service, for the , full term, the request, in so far as it relates to major league clubs, is dismissed dis-missed because the condition complained com-plained of does not and cannot exist." nn |
