In the second round Gilbert got into a clinch with his right free and before be-fore Mex could get away tho boiler-maker boiler-maker had scored at least ten blows without a counter getting to hint.! When Mex did get loose he started a lively session himself and had the local lo-cal boy at the receiving end of some mighty powerful blows to the body. Even. Mex Gets Third Round. The boil'-rmaker must have received some nasty wallops to his midsection, for when the third session started he had his hammer arm drawn back and was telegraphing every move. Then Mex started things and with fast work had Pat backing up. In one of tho mix-ups Mex slipped a sledge-llke punch to Pat's Jaw which staggered the local boy, but before the dark-skinned dark-skinned pug could make use of his advantage ad-vantage Gilbert went Into a clinch and came out of it with lots of fight left. Pat's session ses-sion by a mile. At the tap of the bell for the sixth circuit Pat came out with the intention inten-tion of putting his man away, but the Mexican stood up for a bit and swapped swap-ped blows, and then spent remainder of session avoiding the sleep potion. The decision to Gilbert was a foregone fore-gone conclusion. Azavedo Wins Title Young Azavedo snatched the featherweight feath-erweight crown from Kid Davis In the other six-round bout. In the first session, ses-sion, it could be seen that Azavedo was going to give Kid Davis a scientific scientif-ic trimming and send him back to the farm so the folks at home would not recognize hini In the second and third Joe continued his cutting and slashing slash-ing tactics, while the kid occasionally landed a telling body blow. The third saw Azavedo still crossing to the face and Jabbing at the cuts. When the fourth circuit opened. Davis had given up all hope of making away with his man and hung on like a leach, only opening up occasionally to swing to the body. Mack started out with fancy dancing stunts which Dutch failed to fathom until the fourth round, when he got busy and by slipping uppercut torpedoes under Macks' submarine sub-marine attack caused the latter to stall, then dog it. Dutch got the de clslon.
