Show HENRY FORD TO 1 BUIUjjMELTER Will Construct 12,000,000 Plant on Detroit River Injunction In-junction Suit Decided. Detroit. Mich., Jan. 6 Henry Ford, president of the Ford Motor company. J was today allowed to proceed with the ! construction of a $12,000,000 smelter on the Detroit river near this city. The three circuit judges presiding at the injunction suit brought against Ford by the Dodge Brothers, accepted a bond of $10,090,000 to secure the Dodges from any possible losses The bond was furnished by Henry-Ford. Henry-Ford. Horace H. Racksham. and 1 i -L. Klingcnsmith, as individuals These men are stockholders of the Ford Mo tor company. TJie band is to secure the Ford Motor company from any possible pos-sible loss which might result from work on the smelter up to the final disposition of the injunction case. The temporary injunction restraining Ford from using the profits of the Ford Motor company for development purposes pur-poses was issued last month for sixty days. The injunction suit was started about a month ago by John F. Dodge and Horace E. Dodge, automobile manufacturers who are stockholders Of the Ford Motor company. They charged that Ford's plane for spending great sums of money for developing the company's business "were reckless reck-less and unwise," and petitioned that Ford be compelled to disburse the company's profits as dividend-. When the sixty-day injunction was granted, Ford was compelled to stop work on his smelter. The case was taken to the state supreme court, which, on December 22, ordered the local circuit judges to modify the terms of their injunction or to show cause why the injunction should not be dissolved. The supremo court suggested sug-gested that the lower eourt accept an adequate bond from Ford and allow him to continue the erection of his smelter. Henry Ford owns 51 per cent of the stock of the Ford Motor company. The Dodge Brothers own 10 per cent. They alleged at the injunction hearing that Ford had conducted the affairs of the company without accepting, or asking for advice from the minority stockholders. stock-holders. oo |
