The shortage of coal is about the most serious problem at the present time to contend with and unless re-lleved re-lleved soon considerable suffering and general business depression will be the outcome. Owing to the courtesy of the Garland Sugar factory the seriousness ser-iousness of the situation has been averted as several tons of coal have been distributed to the peopN' Superintendent T. H. Edwards is in Salt Lake on business this week. Miss Lizzie Preston is visiting in Brigham City. Mr. and Mrs. R. T. Shaw have returned re-turned home from a visit in Logan. Miss Zella Hausly, who is teaching school in Idaho, has left to take up her work after having visited uere with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. P. Hously. Mrs. Carrie Perkins is In Ogden on I business this week. I Dr. and Mrs. T. W. Times and children chil-dren nnd Mrs. George F. Grover are vi.slting relatives in Ogden. Mr, and Mrs. Charlie Edward returned re-turned to Brigham City after a pleasant pleas-ant visit here with relatives and friends. Fred Manning is in Brigham City and Ogden on business. Mrs. George Austin returned to Salt Lake yesterday after a pleasant visit here with her son, Clarence Austin una lamlly. Ed. N. Austin, agricultural superintendent superin-tendent at the sugar factory at the Grant's Pass, Ore., was in Garland this week. Mrs. Peter Hanck and daughter, violet, vio-let, of Montpelier, Idaho, have returned return-ed to their home after visiting here with Mrs. Hanck's daughter, Mrs. J. A. Wixom. |
