Show LIGHTNING HAD DAZED THEM A terrific storm, accompanied by thunder and lightning, Bwept over Plain City Thursday forenoon. In a few minutes tho guttered streets wero running torrents and the level fields wero shoots of water. Dozens of little lit-tle pigs and hundreds of little chickens chick-ens perished in tho storm. Several narrow escapes from lightr ning are reported. William Cottle , was dazed and did not recover his normal condition for about half an hour. Roland Taylor, tho blacksmith who happenod to be handling a chain Just as one red bolt dropped uncomfortably uncom-fortably near, was numicd about the arms. A gentle, persistent rain is till falling fall-ing at Plain City, something like twenty-four hours after the storm broke in fury, and it has been falling for hours Unfortunately, though, it catches some farmers in tho midst of the hay harvest, and in such cases some harm is being done. Still the rain comes as an answer to prayer, for in Plain City, not a drop has fallen from the clouds since early spring. |
