Financial trouble and drink are as-slened as-slened as tho principal causes for tho act Waterhouse was wanted by tho police, two complaints having been sworn to by local saloonkeepers, charging1 him with having passe 1 worthless checks upon them. Last Saturday afternoon Waterhouse went to the police station and asked for Captain of Detectives Riley M Beck-stead. Beck-stead. He told Captain Beckstead that he understood the police were looking for him He had understood the checks had been covered by a friend, but that as such was not the case, he would cover them before night, he promised He admitted that he had cashed checks for $105 while intoxicated. It appears that he made an effort to raise the money to save him from prison, but failed. |
